About ExpensePilot
ExpensePilot is a free online tool that generates mock business expense entries — entry IDs, dates, categories, vendors and amounts — for anyone who needs realistic-looking financial test data without touching real money.
Why it exists
Developers building accounting and expense-report software, technical writers documenting finance workflows, students practicing spreadsheets, and product teams preparing demos all need the same thing: believable expense data that is safe to use anywhere. Hand-typing fake rows is slow and inconsistent; using real company data is a privacy risk. ExpensePilot generates a clean, structured batch in seconds.
How it works
The tool is a single JavaScript file running in your browser. It draws randomness from crypto.getRandomValues(), assembles entries from a built-in list of ten common expense categories, and formats the output as Line, Detailed or CSV rows. There is no account, no backend and no tracking — 100% client-side.
What it is not
ExpensePilot is not accounting software, not tax advice, and not a source of real financial records. Every entry it produces is randomly invented. The honest-limits box on the generator explains the boundaries; the short version is: test data for systems and skills, never for real books.
